Call for Artists

Third Annual Artist Book Exhibit

April 6–28, 2012

Entry Information

Illahe Studios and Gallery features a unique combination of art studio and fine arts gallery, focusing on art and design for the home. The gallery showcases ceramic works by owner, Susan Springer, as well as a changing display of regional artists, including works in clay, mosaic, glass, wood, and paper. The studio space allows for special events and classes, such as artist demonstrations, workshops, poetry readings and films.

April is National Poetry Month, and we would like to celebrate the art of the word, in the form of Artist Books. Works submitted for this exhibit should display original design and execution.  Submissions will be reviewed, and artists will be notified of accepted works.

Entry Requirements

We are defining "artist books" as original works of art created as a book. Submissions can be one-of-a-kind books or works from small editions and may be based in any of the following mediums or combinations of mediums: poetry, prose, printmaking, painting, calligraphy, mixed media, photography, sculpture, textile, found objects, and letterpress printing. For this show, we will not be accepting blank books or journals.  Submitted work must have been created within the past two years.

Art works must be ready to exhibit and sell.  Any special requirements for display or handling must be specified.  Due to limited space and pedestals, works may not exceed 16” x 16” x 24”.  A maximum of three pieces may be submitted for review.
